These beautiful natural hand polished celestite stones have such amazing color and clarity. In many instances you can still see the resemblance of the original point that the stone had been polished from. Celestite is notoriously difficult to tumble as it is an extremely soft crystal that fractures very easily. If you see celestite as a tumbled stone, it is virtually guaranteed to be covered in a resin or stone sealer otherwise the tumbled stones would only yield tiny chips. The best way to achieve a smooth surface on the crystal is to polish by hand, however considering the delicate nature of this crystal it is quite common to find imperfections and many pieces will have minor fracture lines and chips in areas where polishing isn't possible. This is actually one of the few polished crystals where it is good to see flaws and imperfections to verify that it hasn’t been treated. Our hand polished celestite crystals have never been subjected to any kind of sealers. We wash each batch in water and touch them up with a non-toxic grapeseed oil to remove any gritty particles and to improve the aesthetics. This oil can be easily removed with a damp cloth if desired.
