At first glance, these labradorite stones may appear to be just ordinary grey rocks. However upon looking closer you will notice a flash and iridescence coming off these stones making them far different than other common rocks. There are a various flashes in these labradorite stones with blue, green, yellow, and orange being the most predominant colors. Some pieces may have multicolored rainbow flashes. The flash tends to be great on at least one side of the stone making them perfect for cabbing and jewelry, although many stones will produce colors on multiple sides offering versatility in crafting. The quality in some pieces may be similar to "AAA" grade labradorite with the main difference being is that some pieces may only produce a partial flash on one side. Yet these stones have excellent potential to reveal more flash when sanded and cut, although many would prefer to leave them in their more natural state. While not every angle produces flash, the fascinating thing about labradorite is that light has to hit the stone at the right angle to produce the colorful rainbow effect known as labradorescence. This makes labradorite one of the most interesting crystals to hold and observe.
