At first glance, these labradorite stones may appear to be just ordinary grey rocks. However upon looking closer at the right angle in the light you will notice a flash and iridescence coming off these stones making them far different than other common rocks. This type of labradorite is one the highest grades we offer. While not AAA grade, the flash is abundant in these stones and some pieces may yield more flash than others. Blue, green, yellow, and orange are the most predominant color flashes, however other color flashes may be encountered to a lesser degree. The flash of this labradorite tends to be quite good on at least one side of the stone making them perfect for cabbing and jewelry, although many stones will produce colors on multiple sides offering versatility in crafting. While not every angle produces flash, the fascinating thing about labradorite is that light has to hit the stone at the right angle to produce the colorful rainbow effect known as labradorescence. This makes labradorite one of the most interesting crystals to hold and observe.
