It is so hard to find natural and untreated larimar stones. Finding quality material in the rough form is exceptionally rare as almost all of the higher grades go directly to the lapidaries for polished items including cut gemstones. Yet we are excited to have these stones which have never been chemically treated or been subjected to the use of resins or stone sealers to improve their appearance and marketability. There is tons of potential in many of these stones to make some amazing jewelry pieces if the time and labor is put in. However most would likely prefer to keep them in their raw form and appreciate the way the Earth created them naturally.
