An amazing find of rare and beautiful stichtite stones from South Africa. Raw material is particularly challenging to get on a reliable basis as most of the highest grade crystals go into polished item production such as points, spheres, or jewelry items. These stones have a vibrant purple coloration often mixed with green serpentine and contain little to no surface deposits on the crystals after our natural methods of cleaning and polishing. While the size range is considerable, they are very soft and lightweight stones that can be effortlessly broken down further if desired. Larger pieces are quite rare and highly sought after. The combination of stichtite and serpentine occasionally goes by the alternative name atlantisite.

Note: Compared to some of the other minerals we naturally polish, stichtite tends to be variably porous and is quite the soft stone. Some pieces take very well to polishing, while others lose their luster rather rapidly. Therefore we suggest polishing about once a month to keep these specimens looking as vibrant as possible. We highly recommend using natural oils like grapeseed or jojoba (which is semi-clear, odorless, and very thin) over toxic petroleum-based mineral oils for polishing.
