We provide discounted international shipping via USPS to countries outside the United States. Rates are determined by destination, weight, and items. Taxes and duties are covered in shipping costs for Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK. For other countries, import taxes and duties might apply and are the importer's responsibility before the package is released for delivery (on average about 20% of the order value).

It is advisable to consider using a freight forwarding company for large volume orders for international shipments to access postage discounts and simplify customs clearance. While we don't endorse a specific forwarder due to various options available, most of our supporters use options like MyUS and ForwardMe, but definitely compare rates with online postage calculators to find the best deal. A freight forwarder will provide a unique storage address from their U.S. warehouses. This allows you to use domestic shipping at our store's checkout, streamlining the process.

Many of the items at Beyond Bohemian, particularly raw stones and crystals, have been cleaned and/or polished with eco-friendly materials. Anything that has been polished with plant-based oils has a long lasting effect (often years) and will not require a repeated application anytime soon. Water, including rain water does not remove the oil, however rinsing can be helpful to remove any dust. Otherwise a slightly damp cloth is best for cleaning. To remove the oil it requires washing with a mild soap, rinsing, and drying. Please use care and take proper precautions when handling and working with raw stones and crystals as some are sharp or delicate. Some stones and crystals are photosensitive and it is best to keep them out of direct sunlight. As a general rule if it has intense color and a strong to moderate level of translucency assume that prolonged sun exposure can cause fading.

Based on the nature of our business structure and ethical sourcing principles we generally do not run store-wide sales or discounts. The reason for this is that discounts and coupon codes leads to unequal opportunity and pricing. We emphasize pricing our items fairly and competitively everyday and prioritize high turnover as it is exceptionally rewarding to provide some of the highest quality stones and crystals from artisanal mining and lapidary operations across the world. That support really helps individual and small businesses to succeed, grow, and thrive while affording everyone involved a good quality of life.

While our strict adherence to our ethical sourcing principles and our sustainable business initiatives do not often allow us to have the cheapest products or shipping options, we have decided to incentivize our supporters by offering complimentary shipping on all orders over $99 USD. There are price breaks available on many of our bulk items which can offer significant savings when purchasing in larger quantities. Occasionally we offer special deals on select products which are subject to availability and purchase quantities may be restricted. If you want to stay budget conscious, there is a section of this website dedicated to overstocked material and clearance items.

We heavily favor using worker owned cooperatives to bring in unique products you probably won’t see anywhere else. However this also means many items may be very limited in their availability and production. The material can often be very region specific and it often looks and feels much different than what produced in large scale operations and refined in corporate factories. Beyond Bohemian will always be transparent about the origins of our products and we will never carry anything that has documented environmental or social harms. This selective curation of products sometimes limits or excludes certain items from ever becoming a part of the inventory despite high demand. Some stones and crystals may have fascinating properties and attributes, but carrying them would go directly against our mission. We only carry 100% natural stones and crystals and source from trusted mines and lapidaries that aligns with our mission.

We know what it is like to want a one of a kind type of item and only hope that it is available later. However in all fairness, we have a strict policy to not offer holds or reservations as when people don't commit we deny the opportunity to others that may be interested in the meantime. You will know the item was truly meant to be yours if it is still available when you are ready to purchase it.

We understand the importance and value of selecting your own items. There are many things with individual product pages if you desire to pick your own exact items from photographs. Keep in mind when purchasing in bulk items cannot be individually selected based on specifications. If you have a special request please contact us prior to making a purchase to see if it is something we can help you out with. For items sold exclusively in bulk we photograph representative samples of our current batches to build expectations on what you will receive and highlight any imperfections or variations. Please review the all of the photographs and information in the product description to find the items that would best fit your needs as we have many similar items but sometimes they have subtle variations.

We always welcome requests, but based on several factors we cannot accept each one. If you are looking for an item we regularly carry but are currently out of stock, we may be able to put you on a waitlist. However if your request is related to curating bulk material based on certain specifications we often cannot honor those requests as much of our material is unsorted to offer the best value and allocated by weight.
