This variety of blue kyanite is "AA" grade for having an intense vibrant blue color, moderate translucency and iridescence, and containing minimal surface deposits. Kyanite crystals from Zimbabwe features a highly stable blade structure unlike other varieties that splinter very easily. Some pieces have superb gemmy clarity while others are more clouded and dark.
