Chevron amethyst is amethyst layered with bands of white quartz in V-shaped patterns. The chevron effect gives it a very different look from standard amethyst, more architectural, more geometric.
From Greek 'a-methystos' meaning 'not drunk', ancient Greeks believed amethyst prevented intoxication and carved drinking vessels from it.
We bring these tumbled stones in from Copperbelt Province, Zambia. Worth knowing: a lot of the chevron amethyst on the market is heat-treated and irradiated. What we carry is natural and untreated.
Chevron amethyst has long been used in practices around listening to the quieter signals, a simple anchor during practice, and quiet, steady calm.
