Crown chakra stones list

The crown chakra, Sahasrara in Sanskrit, is the seventh of the seven, at the very top of the head, with nothing above it. Its color is violet shading to white, and the old texts place it beyond the elements entirely, naming it consciousness instead.

1. Clear quartz. This collection is anchored by clusters from Brazil, dozens of water clear points rising from a shared base. A cluster shows quartz doing what it does underground, uninterrupted.
2. Amethyst. Violet quartz from Uruguay and Brazil. The Uruguayan material runs small and dark, the Brazilian larger and lighter.
3. Fluorite. The violet end of fluorite belongs here. Ours comes from Brazil, soft at 4, happiest on a shelf and away from water.
4. Golden healer. Clear quartz stained honey gold by iron oxide, from Brazil. The color sits within and just beneath the surface rather than all the way through.
5. Lemurian quartz. Clear Brazilian quartz with horizontal ridges across its faces, like growth rings stood on end.
6. Celestite. The one pale blue on this page, from Madagascar. At 3 to 3.5 it's soft and brittle, a stone for a still shelf rather than a pocket.

Crown chakra blocked symptoms

The tradition describes a settled crown as perspective, the sense of a larger picture holding the small one. Unsettled, it reads like this.

• Weeks that pass on rails, technically full, strangely flat.
• Cynicism arriving before wonder gets a hearing.
• A horizon that has shrunk to the length of the to-do list.
• Loneliness that has nothing to do with how many people are around.
• Finding it nearly impossible to sit with nothing playing.

Anything physical that persists, headaches and dizziness included, belongs with a doctor first and a mineral second.

How to unblock the crown chakra

Where the lower chakras get movement and sound, the crown gets stillness.

1. Sit for ten minutes with nothing playing, spine tall, hands still. Not emptying the mind, just letting it settle like water you've stopped stirring.
2. Lie down and set a stone on the floor just above the top of your head. That's the traditional placement, since nothing balances on the crown itself.
3. Carry a small clear quartz and let touching it be your cue to look up, at sky, ceiling or horizon, for one full minute. Perspective is partly a neck exercise.
4. Keep the corner where you sit white or violet, a candle, a cloth, a single flower.

The signs most often paired with the crown are Aquarius, for the wide view, and Pisces, for the thin boundary between self and everything else. This chakra is the top of the ladder, so there's only one direction to link, down to the third eye.

Wearing crown chakra stones

No everyday jewelry sits at the top of the head, so crown stones get worn elsewhere or kept where you practice. Earrings come closest of anything in the jewelry box, a small point collectors enjoy. Clear quartz and amethyst, at 6.5 to 7 and up, handle rings, bracelets and daily knocks without complaint, and golden healer wears the same way, since it's still quartz underneath the color. Celestite stays home. At 3 to 3.5 it chips far too easily to string, and its pale blue holds best out of strong sunlight.
