Black Moonstone

Black moonstone is a dark feldspar from Madagascar that shows the same silvery adularescent sheen associated with classic moonstone, set into a body of smoky gray to near-black rock. Hardness sits at 6 to 6.5 on the Mohs scale, with the dark color coming from fine iron-bearing inclusions in the feldspar matrix. We source ours from a single region, Amoron'i Mania in the central highlands, through artisanal miners we vet personally and pay above regional norms.
