How do I know your opal is real and not dyed?

If a stone has been dyed, heated, irradiated, or coated in any way, we disclose it on the product page. How do I cleanse and care for opal?

Most people cleanse opal with sound (a bell or a singing bowl), smoke (sage, palo santo, cedar), moonlight overnight, or by placing it on a piece of selenite. Opal is moderately soft at 5-6.5 on the Mohs scale, so short water rinses are fine but avoid long soaks. How often is up to you. A weekly reset is a common rhythm, but there's no rule. The practice matters more than the schedule.
