What is malachite good for?

In traditional crystal practice, malachite is most commonly worked with for transformation, heart healing, and protection. It's not medicine, and no stone will fix anything on its own. Where does your malachite come from?

The malachite we carry is sourced from Democratic Republic of the Congo and Republic of the Congo. Every product page names the specific country of origin. If we can name the region or the mine, we do. If we can't verify it, we say so rather than guess.

How do I know your malachite is real and not dyed?

Every piece of malachite we sell is hand-graded and checked against known treatment patterns before it's listed. If a stone has been dyed, heated, irradiated, or coated in any way, we disclose it on the product page. How do I cleanse and care for malachite?

Most people cleanse malachite with sound (a bell or a singing bowl), smoke (sage, palo santo, cedar), moonlight overnight, or by placing it on a piece of selenite. Malachite is soft at 3.5-4 on the Mohs scale, so skip water and salt cleansing. How often is up to you. A weekly reset is a common rhythm, but there's no rule. The practice matters more than the schedule.

Malachite is a hydrated copper carbonate with banding patterns in every shade of green from pale pistachio to near-black. The color comes from copper, the same element that makes pennies green when they oxidize. The Congo produces the overwhelming majority of commercial material, with the distinctive eye patterns and concentric banding that collectors look for.
