Pyrite is iron sulfide, the brassy, metallic mineral nicknamed fool's gold. It grows as cubes, octahedrons and twelve-sided pyritohedrons, often with striated faces, and feels heavy for its size. It's sold as raw crystals and clusters, and tumbled.
