Heart chakra stones list

Anahata, the heart chakra, sits fourth of the seven at the center of the chest, with air as its element. It's the one chakra with two colors, green in the traditional system and pink in everyday practice, and this collection is built around both.

1. Rose quartz. The lead stone, and the largest group here by a distance, from Madagascar, Brazil and Namibia. Its pink comes from mineral fibers so fine they also give the stone its characteristic haze.
2. Rhodonite. A manganese mineral from Zimbabwe, rose pink crossed with black veins. Our polished freeforms show why lapidaries rate it, the veining sharpens under polish.
3. Green aventurine. Brazilian quartz with mica platelets suspended in it, which wink when the stone moves under light.
4. Emerald. Heart chakra green at its most precious. Ours is Zimbabwean, mostly still in matrix, seated in the dark rock it grew in.
5. Lepidolite. A lilac-pink lithium mica from Brazil, built in layers with a pearly sheen, and one of the softest stones we carry.
6. Bloodstone. Deep green chalcedony scattered with red flecks, from Madagascar, the heart stone of older European tradition.

Heart chakra blocked symptoms

In the tradition the heart chakra governs connection, and a closed one is described less as sadness than as distance.

• Walls that stayed up long after the thing that built them ended.
• Keeping quiet score in relationships that used to feel easy.
• Grief that lodged in the chest and stopped moving.
• Compliments and help both becoming hard to accept.
• Feeling alone in a room full of people you love.

How to unblock the heart chakra

Heart chakra practice is breath practice, in nearly every telling.

1. Breathe in for four and out for six, ten times, letting the exhale do the work. The longer out-breath is the whole technique.
2. Lie on your back with a palm stone on the center of your chest, letting its small weight mark each breath for ten minutes.
3. Wear a stone at sternum height on a long chain, and let reaching for it become the pause before you answer.
4. Spend time where green does the work for you, under trees, among houseplants, a green stone on the windowsill as a reminder.

Venus-ruled Libra is the sign paired with this chakra most often, and Venus also gives Taurus its claim, which is why rose quartz and rhodonite appear on both pages. Cancer, the zodiac's homebody, rounds out the three. One step below sits the solar plexus chakra, one step above the throat chakra.

Wearing heart chakra stones

Heart chakra stones get worn more than any other group, partly because a pendant hangs exactly where the tradition says the stone belongs. Rose quartz at 6.5 to 7 on the Mohs scale takes daily wear in any setting, and so do aventurine and bloodstone. Rhodonite, at 5.5 to 6.5, is happier as a pendant than a bracelet, where it loses arguments with harder beads. Lepidolite is the one to treat carefully, a soft mica at 2.5 to 3.5 that belongs on a nightstand rather than a keyring, and it should stay dry.
