Chrysoprase is the apple-green variety of chalcedony, a microcrystalline quartz. The color comes from trace nickel bound in the structure. Good chrysoprase reads translucent at the edges and holds a clean green through the body.

Chrysoprase is traditionally associated with joy, heart openness, and a sense of abundance that feels quiet rather than loud. Many people keep a piece nearby during seasons when they want to soften up or remember what feels good.
These are traditional associations drawn from historical practice. This stone is not a substitute for medical or mental health care.
