Choosing your first self-love stone

Rose quartz, tumbled, is the obvious start and stays the right one: affordable, durable, and the stone the entire tradition rests on. Rose quartz and rhodonite are different stones for different days

They share a shelf and a color and almost nothing else. Rose quartz is quartz, silicon dioxide with trace elements blushing it pink, translucent, even-toned, tough at 7. Rhodonite is a manganese silicate, opaque, softer at 5.5 to 6.5, and always interrupted by those black veins.
