How do I cleanse and care for tourmaline?

Most people cleanse tourmaline with sound (a bell or a singing bowl), smoke (sage, palo santo, cedar), moonlight overnight, or by placing it on a piece of selenite. Tourmaline is hard enough at 7-7.5 on the Mohs scale to handle most cleansing methods. How often is up to you. A weekly reset is a common rhythm, but there's no rule. The practice matters more than the schedule.
