What does raw actually mean here?

The stone has been broken out, cleaned, and hand-finished with jojoba oil. Nothing else. No tumbling, no polishing, no shaping. You get fracture faces, natural crystal terminations where the stone grew one, and occasionally a little host rock still attached. Edges can be sharp.

Are any of these stones dyed or treated?

No. All ten are natural and untreated. No dye, no heat, no coating. The one thing we do is hand-finish each piece with natural jojoba oil, which lifts the color and texture that are already in the stone. Oil is a finish, not a treatment, and it wears off in water.

How big are the stones, really?

Small set: each stone is 0.75 to 1.25 inches and 5 to 10 grams, so the whole set weighs roughly 50 to 100 grams. Large set: each stone is 1 to 2 inches and 20 to 40 grams, so the set weighs roughly 200 to 400 grams. The large set holds about four times the mass of the small one.

Should I buy raw or tumbled?

Raw shows you the mineral, including terminations, internal veils and growth banding that tumbling rounds away. Tumbled is smooth, pocketable and better for handling, carrying and layouts on skin. Raw pieces can have sharp edges, so tumbled is the safer choice around small children.

How does the set arrive?

In a reusable cotton bag, ten stones loose inside. The bag is the storage, so there is nothing to throw away, and the set is gift-ready the moment it lands.

What does a crystal grade (A, AA, or AAA) actually mean?

Crystal grades reflect visual quality within a single batch. Grade A is standard quality with typical inclusions. Grade AA shows stronger color saturation, cleaner surface, and tighter sizing. Grade AAA represents the top 10 to 15 percent of any batch: exceptional clarity, consistent color, and minimal surface variation. Will I receive the exact piece shown, or one chosen from your stock?

For bulk listings sold by weight or piece count, you receive pieces from the same batch shown in the photos. Each piece is hand-selected at the time of packing. For unique specimens listed individually, you receive the exact piece photographed. The listing will specify which applies.

How do I know this crystal is ethically sourced?

Beyond Bohemian traces each stone as far up the supply chain as possible and is transparent when that tracing has limits.
