Crystal grades reflect visual quality within a single batch. Grade A is standard quality with typical inclusions. Grade AA shows stronger color saturation, cleaner surface, and tighter sizing. Grade AAA represents the top 10 to 15 percent of any batch: exceptional clarity, consistent color, and minimal surface variation. Included Quartz (Lodolite), often sold as Lodolite, is quartz that contains natural mineral inclusions (commonly chlorite or other growth patterns) that create "garden" or landscape-like scenes inside the crystal.

It forms in pockets and vein zones, often within granitic pegmatites. As a quartz variety it's typically around Mohs 7, with a chemical formula of SiO₂ and a trigonal crystal system.

Common commercial sources include Brazil, Madagascar, and the United States. Treatments are uncommon, but trade names can vary, so it's worth watching for glass look-alikes in low-cost markets.
