Selenite is chalky white, translucent, and so soft you can scratch it with a fingernail. A good piece has a silky fiber running through it that catches the light like moonlight on water. Keep it dry and it'll last.
Named after Selene, the Greek goddess of the moon.
Our chips are sourced from New Mexico, USA. At 2 on the Mohs scale, it's on the softer end. Keep it away from water and store it separately from harder pieces.
