Read our Sourcing Standards →Selenite is chalky white, translucent, and so soft you can scratch it with a fingernail. A good piece has a silky fiber running through it that catches the light like moonlight on water. Keep it dry and it'll last.
Named after Selene, the Greek goddess of the moon.
Our chips are sourced from New Mexico, USA. At 2 on the Mohs scale, it's on the softer end. Keep it away from water and store it separately from harder pieces.
In crystal traditions, selenite is often associated with cleansing, a simple anchor during practice, and chakra balancing. It's traditionally linked to the crown chakra. If that resonates, keep one in a quiet corner where you practice or reflect. Work with it the way that fits your own practice.
These are traditional associations drawn from historical practice. This stone is not a substitute for medical or mental health care.
A starting place for your own quiet practice.
