Smoky Quartz pieces are translucent brown to deep grey-black, with the color sitting evenly through the crystal rather than on the surface. Some pieces are nearly clear with a smoky tint, others are dense charcoal.
Hand-selected from Minas Gerais, Brazil. The smoky color comes from natural radiation acting on aluminum impurities deep within the earth, the only quartz variety to form this way.
Smoky Quartz has long been worked with for grounding, releasing, and steady stress relief. It's linked to the root chakra. Many people keep a piece in a workspace or by a doorway as a reminder to come back to the body and the present.
