Shungite is matte black, carbon-rich, and heavier than it looks. Russian in origin, it's been used as a water filter and a talisman for centuries. Elite shungite has a silvery sheen, regular shungite is more matte. Black color and ancient origin.
These polished crystals & decor come from Republic of Karélia, Russia. It's soft (Mohs 2), so handle it with a little care, keep it dry, and store it in its own pouch so harder stones don't scratch it.
In the tradition, shungite shows up most often around a sense of groundedness when things feel uncertain, cleansing, and staying connected to your body and the moment.
