Malachite is green in concentric rings and bands, sometimes bullseye patterns, sometimes sweeping stripes. The color is the color of oxidized copper because that's exactly what it is. It polishes to a mirror shine. Used extensively in ancient Egypt for eye cosmetics.
This piece comes from Haut-Katanga, Democratic Republic of the Congo. This is a softer mineral (3.5-4 Mohs). Dry storage, gentle handling, and don't let it knock around with quartz or tourmaline. Worth knowing: a lot of the malachite on the market is stabilized and sold as imitation. What we carry is natural and untreated.
In the tradition, malachite shows up most often around working through difficult feelings at your own pace, a sense of groundedness when things feel uncertain, and clarifying what you actually want. It's traditionally linked to the heart chakra. If that resonates, set one on a shelf where your eye lands on it during the day. Trust what feels useful and leave the rest.
