This is an AAA-grade selenite raw crystal standing slab from New Mexico, USA. Selenite is fibrous gypsum formed as ancient saline water evaporated, translucent white with a satin optical fiber. The exact piece pictured measures 6.03" L x 0.50" W x 3.23" H at Mohs 2, fully natural and untreated. A favorite cleansing stone for nightstands.
Selenite is a crystalline form of gypsum, laid down where ancient salt water evaporated and left soft fibrous beds behind. It is named after Selene, the Greek goddess of the moon, for the way light travels along the fiber.
This piece is raw, with only the base cut flat so it stands on its own. No stand needed and none included.
