Read our Sourcing Standards →These are A-grade Tiger Eye raw stones from the Northern Cape, South Africa, sold by the piece or by the pound. Tiger eye is quartz that replaced fibrous crocidolite, leaving the silky golden shimmer called chatoyancy. Each piece runs 1-2 inches at Mohs 6.5-7. Hand-finished with jojoba oil, bought directly at the source in the Northern Cape. A favorite confidence stone for desks.
Tiger eye is gold and brown quartz with a silky shimmer called chatoyancy, caused by parallel fibers that catch light and seem to move as you tilt the stone. On raw pieces the shimmer shows in patches on broken faces instead of sweeping across a polished curve.
We bring these raw pieces in from Northern Cape, South Africa. Worth knowing: a lot of the tiger eye on the market is heat-treated to redden it. Ours is not. It is finished with natural jojoba oil, which deepens the gold already there.
Roman soldiers carried tiger eye for bravery in battle.
Tiger eye is traditionally a stone for settling into who you already are, career, and coming back to the task in front of you. It's traditionally linked to the solar plexus and root chakras. If that resonates, set one on your desk where you can see it during meetings or tough conversations. Let it become part of your own quiet routine.
These are traditional associations drawn from historical practice. This stone is not a substitute for medical or mental health care.
