Why are there small pits?

Shungite is naturally porous in spots. Polishing reveals tiny vacuoles and inclusions. These are part of the stone, not damage.

How heavy are these spheres?

Shungite is dense for a black stone. Weights vary by size, but a 50mm sphere typically runs 150 to 200 grams. Each piece is unique.

What do people work with shungite spheres for?

What does a crystal grade (A, AA, or AAA) actually mean?

Crystal grades reflect visual quality within a single batch. Grade A is standard quality with typical inclusions. Grade AA shows stronger color saturation, cleaner surface, and tighter sizing. Grade AAA represents the top 10 to 15 percent of any batch: exceptional clarity, consistent color, and minimal surface variation.
