What is amethyst good for?

In traditional crystal practice, amethyst is most commonly worked with for anxiety, sleep, and stress. It's not medicine, and no stone will fix anything on its own. Think of it as a physical cue for a practice you're already building. The stone holds the attention, the practice does the work.

Where does your amethyst come from?

The amethyst we carry is sourced from primarily Uruguay, with additional pieces from Brazil, Madagascar, and Zambia. Every product page names the specific country of origin. If we can name the region or the mine, we do. If we can't verify it, we say so rather than guess.

How do I know your amethyst is real and not dyed?

Every piece of amethyst we sell is hand-graded and checked against known treatment patterns before it's listed. If a stone has been dyed, heated, irradiated, or coated in any way, we disclose it on the product page. Our sourcing goes through the Beyond Ethical supply network, which means we know who handled the rough before us. No mystery lots, no filler, no dyed stones passed off as natural.

How do I cleanse and care for amethyst?

Most people cleanse amethyst with sound (a bell or a singing bowl), smoke (sage, palo santo, cedar), moonlight overnight, or by placing it on a piece of selenite. Amethyst is hard enough at 7 on the Mohs scale to handle most cleansing methods. How often is up to you. A weekly reset is a common rhythm, but there's no rule. The practice matters more than the schedule.

Phantom Amethyst

Every layer a record of who you were.

Quartz (SiO2 with phantom inclusions)ZambiaTreatment: None (natural growth zones)

Phantom amethyst is a purple quartz crystal with visible ghost outlines of earlier crystal formations preserved inside. Each transparent layer marks a pause in the stone's growth, edged by a thin boundary of other minerals, then resumes. The phantoms appear as pyramid-shaped shadows nested within the main crystal. Many people work with it for meditation, inner growth, and practices around honoring the different versions of self layered through time.
