What makes a mineral specimen collector grade?

Formation, locality, and condition. Collectors look at how the crystal grew, where it came from, and whether the piece is intact. A specimen is bought for what it shows you about the mineral, so the things that matter are the things a photo of a generic stone would never tell you.

Will I receive the exact specimen in the photos?

Yes. The photos on each specimen product page show the exact piece you receive, not a stock image of a similar one.

Do you list the locality for your specimens?

Every product page names the country the piece came from. Where the region or the specific mine is verifiable, we name that too. Where it is not, we say so rather than inventing a locality that sounds better than what we actually know.

Are your specimens repaired or stabilized?

Repair, filling, and stabilization all exist in the specimen trade, and none of them are disqualifying when they are disclosed. If a piece we sell has been repaired or stabilized, the product page says so.

Mineral Specimens

The pieces collectors hold onto.

Sourced for the people who notice what makes a piece worth keeping. Formation, locality, the small things that say where and how it grew. The photos on the product page show the exact piece you receive.
