This is a polished Amethyst incense holder from Minas Gerais, Brazil, cut from natural amethyst with a small center hole for a stick of incense. It runs about 3 to 4 inches across and 1 to 1.5 inches tall at Mohs 7, hand-finished with natural jojoba oil. A functional piece of natural stone decor for a desk or altar.
Amethyst is the violet variety of quartz, colored by trace iron and natural irradiation. Cut and polished into a low block, the purple catches light on a desk or altar.
