These are AA-grade Amethyst palm stones from Anosy, Madagascar. Palm stones are tumble-polished into a flat oval shaped to sit in a closed hand, here in soft violet quartz. Each piece runs 1.50-3 inches at Mohs 7 and is sourced through a community partnership. A favorite sleep stone for bedside tables.
Amethyst has the kind of purple that draws you in without trying. Some pieces are pale lavender, others are deep violet, and the best ones catch light through the crystal structure so they seem to glow from the inside. From Greek 'a-methystos' meaning 'not drunk', ancient Greeks believed amethyst prevented intoxication and carved drinking vessels from it.
This piece comes from Anosy, Madagascar. Worth knowing: a lot of the amethyst on the market is heat-treated and irradiated. What we carry is natural and untreated.
In the tradition, amethyst shows up most often around quiet, steady calm, winding down and settling into rest, and a simple anchor during practice. It's traditionally linked to the third eye and crown chakras. If that resonates, set it in front of you during meditation or quiet reflection. Trust what feels useful and leave the rest.

Amethyst sits at 7 on the Mohs scale, harder than a steel blade, so it handles daily carry and a quick rinse without fuss. The one thing that hurts it is sunlight: months in a bright window will fade the color, and it does not come back.
Natural amethyst from Anosy, Madagascar. Untreated. Most natural amethyst is sold without enhancement. Heat-treated amethyst becomes 'citrine' or 'prasiolite' and is sold under those names elsewhere; this is not heat-treated.

Each piece measures 1.5 to 3 inches on its longest side and weighs 50 to 100 medium.
Grade AA. Soft to medium violet color, clean polish, palm-sized for comfortable holding. Grades reflect visual quality within a batch. A is standard, with typical inclusions. AA shows stronger color, cleaner surfaces and tighter sizing. AAA is the top 10 to 15 percent of a batch. Every lot is inspected and graded by our team in Rockville, Maryland, not taken on the supplier’s word.
