These are AAA-grade Aquamarine tumbled stones from Minas Gerais, Brazil, sold by the piece or by the pound. AAA grading marks stronger blue saturation and cleaner polish than standard tumbles of this beryl. Each piece runs 1-1.50 inches at Mohs 7.5-8, sourced through a community partnership. A favorite love stone for gifting.
Aquamarine is the pale blue variety of beryl, same family as emerald. The color runs from nearly colorless to a soft sea blue, and the best pieces have the transparency of shallow water.
The name means 'sea water' in Latin, reflecting its long association with the ocean and maritime travel.
Our tumbled stones are sourced from Minas Gerais, Brazil. Worth knowing: a lot of the aquamarine on the market is heat-treated. What we carry is natural and untreated.

Aquamarine sits at 7.5-8 on the Mohs scale, harder than a steel blade, so it handles daily carry and a quick rinse without fuss. Keep chemical cleaners away from it; they can etch the surface.
