These are AA-grade Chevron Amethyst raw crystals from Copperbelt Province, Zambia, sold by the piece or by the pound. Chevron Amethyst forms when purple amethyst and white quartz alternate in V-shaped growth bands. Each piece runs 1.50-3 inches at Mohs 7, sourced through a community partnership. A favorite intuition stone for meditation spaces.
Chevron amethyst is amethyst layered with bands of white quartz in V-shaped patterns. The chevron effect gives it a very different look from standard amethyst, more architectural, more geometric.
From Greek 'a-methystos' meaning 'not drunk', ancient Greeks believed amethyst prevented intoxication and carved drinking vessels from it.
Hand-selected from Copperbelt Province, Zambia. Worth knowing: a lot of the chevron amethyst on the market is heat-treated and irradiated. What we carry is natural and untreated.
Chevron amethyst has long been used in practices around listening to the quieter signals, a simple anchor during practice, and quiet, steady calm. It's traditionally linked to the third eye and crown chakras. If that resonates, place one on a nightstand or on an altar where you sit. There's no single right way to carry it.

Chevron Amethyst sits at 7 on the Mohs scale, harder than a steel blade, so it handles daily carry and a quick rinse without fuss. The one thing that hurts it is sunlight: months in a bright window will fade the color, and it does not come back.

Each piece measures 1.5 to 3 inches on its longest side and weighs 20 to 50 grams. About 12 to 20 pieces per pound at this size, and each option shows its piece count.
Grade AA. Clear chevron banding, good purple saturation, raw natural form. Grades reflect visual quality within a batch. A is standard, with typical inclusions. AA shows stronger color, cleaner surfaces and tighter sizing. AAA is the top 10 to 15 percent of a batch. Every lot is inspected and graded by our team in Rockville, Maryland, not taken on the supplier’s word.
