These are AA-grade Chocolate Calcite hand-polished stones from Junín, Peru, sold by the piece or by the pound. Chocolate calcite is banded calcium carbonate in warm brown layers, and polishing brings out its striation. Each piece runs 1-1.50 inches at a soft Mohs 3, bought directly at the source. A favorite grounding stone for desks.

We bring these tumbled stones in from Junín, Peru. Worth knowing: a lot of the chocolate calcite on the market is dyed. What we carry is natural and untreated.
This is a softer mineral (3 Mohs). Dry storage, gentle handling, and don't let it knock around with quartz or tourmaline.
The word calcite comes from Latin 'calx' meaning lime.

Chocolate Calcite sits at 3 on the Mohs scale, among the softest stones we carry, so handle it gently and keep it dry. Long soaks dull the surface, so keep any water contact brief and dry it fully.
