These are AA-grade Flower Agate hand polished stones from Analamanga, Madagascar, sold by the piece or by the pound. Flower agate is a chalcedony with opaque white plume inclusions that read as tiny blossoms in cross-section. Each piece runs 0.75-1.25 inches at Mohs 6.5-7, sourced through a community partnership. A favorite manifestation stone for desks.
Flower agate is a pale pink chalcedony with white crystalline inclusions that look like small flowers or bursts blooming inside the stone. It's a relatively new find from Madagascar.
It is one of the most diverse and widely collected mineral groups, with dozens of named varieties based on color, pattern, and origin.
Hand-selected from Analamanga, Madagascar. Worth knowing: a lot of the flower agate on the market is dyed. What we carry is natural and untreated.

Flower Agate sits at 6.5-7 on the Mohs scale, about as hard as glass, so it handles daily use but will scratch against harder stones. Keep chemical cleaners away from it; they can etch the surface.

Each piece measures 0.75 to 1.25 inches on its longest side and weighs 10 to 30 grams. About 24 to 40 pieces per pound at this size, and each option shows its piece count.
AA grade indicates clearly visible and well-formed floral inclusions, good translucency in the chalcedony base, a quality hand polish, and minimal surface chips or fractures. Grades reflect visual quality within a batch. A is standard, with typical inclusions. AA shows stronger color, cleaner surfaces and tighter sizing. AAA is the top 10 to 15 percent of a batch. Every lot is inspected and graded by our team in Rockville, Maryland, not taken on the supplier’s word.
