These are A-grade Pink Agate polished crystal chips from Francistown, Botswana, sold by the piece or by the pound. Pink Agate is a banded chalcedony, fine-grained quartz with a waxy luster and soft rose banding. Each chip runs 0.25-0.50 inch at Mohs 6.5-7, in naturally banded, undyed color. A favorite love stone for crystal grids.
Pink Agate belongs to the Chalcedony group within the Silicates family.

Agate has been used as a decorative and protective stone since ancient times, found in archaeological sites across Egypt, Mesopotamia, and sub-Saharan Africa.

Pink Agate sits at 6.5–7 on the Mohs scale, about as hard as glass, so it handles daily use but will scratch against harder stones. The one thing that hurts it is sunlight: months in a bright window will fade the color, and it does not come back.
