hematite has become my go-to crystal to help with focus. i love this stuff. the quality of these stones is so nice. we're a large busy family, have lots going on & some of us make entirely too much noise, which all tends to be distracting. several of us use this now. :o)

In Short

These are AA-grade Hematite tumbled stones from Minas Gerais, Brazil, sold by the piece or by the pound. Hematite is an iron oxide with a metallic silver-gray sheen, noticeably heavier in the hand than most stones. Each piece runs 0.75-1.25 inches at Mohs 5.5-6.5, fully natural and untreated. A favorite grounding stone for pockets.

Hematite is heavy, metallic, and mirror-silver when polished. It's iron ore, so the weight makes sense. Run one along a piece of unglazed ceramic and it leaves a rust-red streak, which is where the name comes from.

Hematite takes its name from the Greek haima, meaning blood, because of the red streak it leaves when rubbed on unglazed ceramic.

We bring these tumbled stones in from Minas Gerais, Brazil.

In crystal traditions, hematite is often associated with staying connected to your body and the moment, a sense of groundedness when things feel uncertain, and coming back to the task in front of you. It's traditionally linked to the root chakra. If that resonates, hold one in your non-dominant hand for a few breaths when things feel shaky. Work with it the way that fits your own practice.

These are traditional associations drawn from historical practice. This stone is not a substitute for medical or mental health care.
