These are AA-grade Ocean Jasper tumbled stones from Sofia, Madagascar, sold by the piece or by the pound. Ocean jasper is an orbicular variety of jasper found only in northwestern Madagascar, patterned with concentric rings in green, pink, and cream. Each piece runs 0.75-1.25 inches at Mohs 6.5-7, fully natural and untreated. A favorite emotional healing stone for pockets.
Ocean jasper is a riot of orbs and swirls in green, pink, white, and rust. No two pieces look alike. It's only found in one place on earth, the coast of northwestern Madagascar, and the original mine has been worked out for years.

Ocean Jasper sits at 6.5-7 on the Mohs scale, about as hard as glass, so it handles daily use but will scratch against harder stones. Keep chemical cleaners away from it; they can etch the surface.

Each piece measures 0.75 to 1.25 inches on its longest side and weighs 5 to 10 grams. About 48 to 72 pieces per pound at this size, and each option shows its piece count.
AA grade indicates above-average material with strong color saturation, clearly defined orbicular patterns, and a good polish. A grade would show less vivid color or less distinct patterning; AAA would be museum-quality with exceptional clarity of pattern. Grades reflect visual quality within a batch. A is standard, with typical inclusions. AA shows stronger color, cleaner surfaces and tighter sizing. AAA is the top 10 to 15 percent of a batch. Every lot is inspected and graded by our team in Rockville, Maryland, not taken on the supplier’s word.
