These are AA-grade Rainbow Obsidian tumbled stones from Jalisco, Mexico, sold by the piece or by the pound. Rainbow obsidian is volcanic glass whose banded sheen comes from nanoscale magnetite layers that split light at certain angles. Each piece runs 1-1.50 inches at Mohs 5-5.5, fully natural and untreated. A favorite emotional healing stone for meditation spaces.

Named after Obsius, a Roman who reportedly first found it in Ethiopia.
We bring these tumbled stones in from Jalisco, Mexico.
Those who work with rainbow obsidian often turn to it for working through difficult feelings at your own pace, opening to connection, with yourself and others, and a sense of groundedness when things feel uncertain. It's traditionally linked to the root and heart chakras. If that resonates, hold one in your non-dominant hand for a few breaths when things feel shaky. How you use it is up to you.

Rainbow Obsidian sits at 5-5.5 on the Mohs scale, soft enough to scratch with a knife, so keep it dry and store it on its own. Keep chemical cleaners away from it; they can etch the surface.
