These are AA-grade Smoky Quartz raw crystals from Minas Gerais, Brazil, sold by the piece or by the pound. Smoky Quartz is quartz darkened brown to gray by natural ground radiation acting on trace aluminum. Each piece runs 1.50-2.50 inches at Mohs 7, sourced through a community partnership. A favorite grounding stone for desks.
Smoky quartz is transparent brown-to-gray quartz, the color coming from natural irradiation deep in the earth. Good pieces feel cool and heavy in the hand, and the darker smoky points almost look like they're holding shadow.
Our raw pieces are sourced from Minas Gerais, Brazil. Worth knowing: a lot of the smoky quartz on the market is irradiated. What we carry is natural and untreated.
Those who work with smoky quartz often turn to it for staying connected to your body and the moment, a sense of groundedness when things feel uncertain, and quiet, steady calm.
