This is an A-grade Ocean Jasper polished free form from Sofia, Madagascar. Ocean Jasper is an orbicular jasper whose round concentric eyes formed as silica crystallized around scattered nuclei in the rock. It measures 4.05 by 2.32 by 5.37 inches at Mohs 6.5-7, sourced through a community partnership. A favorite love stone for display shelves.
Ocean jasper is a riot of orbs and swirls in green, pink, white, and rust. No two pieces look alike. It's only found in one place on earth, the coast of northwestern Madagascar, and the original mine has been worked out for years.

Ocean Jasper sits at 6.5-7 on the Mohs scale, about as hard as glass, so it handles daily use but will scratch against harder stones. Keep chemical cleaners away from it; they can etch the surface.
