This is an A-grade Ocean Jasper polished free form from Sofia, Madagascar. Free forms follow the rough's natural shape, keeping the strongest orb patterning on display. This piece measures 3.91 x 2.28 x 5.58 inches at Mohs 6.5-7, fully natural and untreated. A favorite stress relief stone for display shelves.
Ocean jasper is a riot of orbs and swirls in green, pink, white, and rust. No two pieces look alike. It's only found in one place on earth, the coast of northwestern Madagascar, and the original mine has been worked out for years. Named for its location on the ocean coast accessible only by sea.

Ocean Jasper sits at 6.5-7 on the Mohs scale, about as hard as glass, so it handles daily use but will scratch against harder stones. Keep chemical cleaners away from it; they can etch the surface.
