About This Shungite
Shungite is matte black, carbon-rich, and heavier than it looks. Russian in origin, it's been used as a water filter and a talisman for centuries. Elite shungite has a silvery sheen, regular shungite is more matte. Black color and ancient origin.
This piece comes from Republic of Karélia, Russia. This is a softer mineral (2 Mohs). Dry storage, gentle handling, and don't let it knock around with quartz or tourmaline.
Traditionally Used For
Shungite is traditionally a stone for a sense of groundedness when things feel uncertain, cleansing, and staying connected to your body and the moment. It's traditionally linked to the root chakra. If that resonates, hold one in your non-dominant hand for a few breaths when things feel shaky. Let it become part of your own quiet routine.

Everything we sell is natural in origin: never synthetic, never dyed, never coated. Where a stone has been heated, irradiated or stabilized, which is common in the trade for some species, we say so on the listing. If a piece is not as described, return it within 90 days of delivery.
