These are Type III regular-grade Shungite polished points from Karelia, Russia. Each point is hand-cut from carbon-rich Karelian rock, with a squared tip and a consistent matte-black finish. Points run 4.15-4.30 inches at Mohs 2, bought directly at the source. A favorite protection stone for desks and display shelves.
Shungite is matte black, carbon-rich, and heavier than it looks. Russian in origin, it's been used as a water filter and a talisman for centuries. Elite shungite has a silvery sheen, regular shungite is more matte. Black color and ancient origin.
This piece comes from Republic of Karélia, Russia. This is a softer mineral (2 Mohs). Dry storage, gentle handling, and don't let it knock around with quartz or tourmaline.
Shungite is traditionally a stone for a sense of groundedness when things feel uncertain, cleansing, and staying connected to your body and the moment. It's traditionally linked to the root chakra. If that resonates, hold one in your non-dominant hand for a few breaths when things feel shaky. Let it become part of your own quiet routine.
These are traditional associations drawn from historical practice. This stone is not a substitute for medical or mental health care.
A starting place for your own quiet practice.
