These are A-grade Dendritic Agate tumbled stones from Betsiboka, Madagascar, sold by the piece or by the pound. Inside each translucent stone, iron and manganese oxides branch into tiny tree-like dendrites, no two alike. Each piece runs 0.75-1.25 inches at Mohs 6.5-7, sourced through a community partnership. A favorite healing stone for pockets.

Dendritic Agate sits at 6.5-7 on the Mohs scale, about as hard as glass, so it handles daily use but will scratch against harder stones. Keep chemical cleaners away from it; they can etch the surface.

Each piece measures 0.75 to 1.25 inches on its longest side and weighs 5 to 20 grams. About 32 to 48 pieces per pound at this size, and each option shows its piece count.
AA grade indicates good dendrite definition and contrast, a quality polish, and minimal surface damage. The 1-1.50 inch size provides more stone surface for the branching patterns to be clearly displayed. Grades reflect visual quality within a batch. A is standard, with typical inclusions. AA shows stronger color, cleaner surfaces and tighter sizing. AAA is the top 10 to 15 percent of a batch. Every lot is inspected and graded by our team in Rockville, Maryland, not taken on the supplier’s word.
Sourced from Madagascar, these larger tumbled stones show the fine dendritic inclusions typical of Malagasy material against a clean white or pale base. It came to us through a community partnership, one of the sourcing models we publish and stand behind.
