These are AA-grade Honey Calcite hand polished stones from Ancash, Peru, sold by the piece or by the pound. Calcite is a calcium carbonate mineral; iron impurities give the honey variety its warm amber glow and translucent depth. Each piece runs 1-1.50 inches at Mohs 3, bought directly at the source. A favorite career stone for desks.

This piece comes from Ancash, Peru. This is a softer mineral (3 Mohs). Dry storage, gentle handling, and don't let it knock around with quartz or tourmaline. Worth knowing: a lot of the honey calcite on the market is dyed and heat-treated. What we carry is natural and untreated.
