These are A-grade Tiger Eye tumbled stones from Northern Cape, South Africa, sold by the piece or by the pound. Tiger Eye's golden chatoyancy comes from parallel fibers of altered crocidolite catching light like a cat's eye. Each piece runs 0.50-1 inch at Mohs 6.5-7, bought directly at the source. A favorite confidence stone for pockets.
Tiger eye is gold and brown quartz with a silky shimmer called chatoyancy, caused by parallel fibers that catch light and seem to move as you tilt the stone. It's the closest thing to optical magic in the stone world.
Sourced directly from Northern Cape, South Africa. Worth knowing: a lot of the tiger eye on the market is heat-treated. What we carry is natural and untreated.

Tiger Eye sits at 6.5-7 on the Mohs scale, about as hard as glass, so it handles daily use but will scratch against harder stones. Keep chemical cleaners away from it; they can etch the surface.
