What is in a Tumbled Stone Mystery Bag?

A hand-picked mix of small polished tumbled stones drawn from our active inventory. Each bag weighs about half a pound and includes 12 to 25 pieces in the 0.5 to 1.5 inch range.

Where do the stones come from?

From the same global suppliers we use for our named-stone listings, including partners in Brazil, Madagascar, Zambia, India, and Zimbabwe. The exact mix changes with what we have on hand.

What grade are the stones?

A mix of AA and AAA tumbled material from our regular lots. Pieces are fully polished with clean shapes and rich color. We do not include damaged or flat stones.

Is this stone treated or natural?

We document treatment when confirmed by our suppliers. Common tumbled stones may include heat-treated citrine or carnelian; if you would like specifics for this batch, email info@beyondbohemian.com.

What is it traditionally used for?

Many people use a mystery mix to build a starter collection, carry one stone a day, or stock a grid kit with variety.

How should I care for the stones?

Wipe with a soft dry cloth. A quick rinse is fine for harder stones, but avoid soaking the bag as a whole since softer or water-sensitive pieces may be included.

What does a crystal grade (A, AA, or AAA) actually mean?

Crystal grades reflect visual quality within a single batch. Grade A is standard quality with typical inclusions. Grade AA shows stronger color saturation, cleaner surface, and tighter sizing. Grade AAA represents the top 10 to 15 percent of any batch: exceptional clarity, consistent color, and minimal surface variation. Will I receive the exact piece shown, or one chosen from your stock?

For bulk listings sold by weight or piece count, you receive pieces from the same batch shown in the photos. Each piece is hand-selected at the time of packing. For unique specimens listed individually, you receive the exact piece photographed. The listing will specify which applies.

How do I know this crystal is ethically sourced?

Beyond Bohemian traces each stone as far up the supply chain as possible and is transparent when that tracing has limits. We work with small-scale operations and family-run suppliers wherever we can verify fair compensation. You can ask about any specific piece and we will tell you what we know and what we do not.

What is the return policy?

Beyond Bohemian accepts returns within 90 days of purchase. Items must be in original condition. Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. Contact us before returning so we can confirm eligibility and provide instructions.

Mixed tumbled stones in AA to B grade from partner mines and lapidaries worldwide, sized under 2 inches and sold by the pound, with roughly 32-64 stones per pound. Each lot is assembled by hand at packing, drawing across the varieties in stock at the time, so no two mystery mixes repeat exactly. Expect a spread of colors, sizes, and stone families in every batch.

The mix pulls from the same tumbled crystal stock sold in our named single-origin listings, but did not make the cut to be included (e.g. outliers in size, imperfections) in our regular batches. Grades run AA down to B. The grade range means some pieces are display quality while others show natural pits, fractures, or a softer polish.
