This is an AA-grade Lepidolite crystal specimen from Minas Gerais, Brazil. Lepidolite owes its lavender color to its lithium-rich mica chemistry, stacked in fine reflective plates. It measures 2.87 x 1.85 x 1.48 inches and weighs 0.29 pounds at Mohs 2.5-3, sourced through a community partnership. A favorite calming piece for bedside tables.
Lepidolite has a lavender-gray shimmer that comes from its layered mica structure. Hold one up to the light and you'll see it flash, almost like cracked ice. It's one of the softer stones we carry, which means you treat it gently. The name comes from Greek 'lepidos' meaning scale, referring to its scaly, micaceous texture.
