This is a Collector-grade Rose Quartz specimen from Alaotra-Mangoro, Madagascar. The soft pink color comes from microscopic mineral inclusions scattered through otherwise ordinary quartz. This uncut piece measures 2.40 x 2.39 x 1.76 inches and weighs 0.39 pounds at Mohs 7, hand-finished with natural jojoba oil. A favorite self love stone for display shelves.
Rose quartz is the softest pink in the quartz family. Not a bright pink, more like the color of a cloud at sunrise, sometimes translucent, sometimes cloudy, always warm to look at. Ancient Romans and Egyptians used rose quartz facial masks, believing it would prevent wrinkles and keep skin clear.
These specimens come from Alaotra-Mangoro, Madagascar, and each one is hand-finished with a light coat of natural jojoba oil to bring out the color.
