These are A-grade Smoky Quartz polished hearts from Minas Gerais, Brazil. Smoky quartz ranges tan to deep gray-brown, its tone created by natural radiation acting on trace aluminum. Each heart runs 1.00-1.50 inches at Mohs 7, sourced through a community partnership. A favorite grounding stone for gifting.
Smoky quartz is transparent brown-to-gray quartz, the color coming from natural irradiation deep in the earth. Good pieces feel cool and heavy in the hand, and the darker smoky points almost look like they're holding shadow.
We bring these hearts in from Minas Gerais, Brazil. Worth knowing: a lot of the smoky quartz on the market is irradiated. What we carry is natural and untreated.
